GMS Dress code

GMS maintains a standardized dress policy described below.

In addition to these requirements, students are always expected to adhere to the Shelby County School Dress Code Policy. 

 

All clothing must be appropriately sized.

Acceptable Attire

Pants/Skirts:

Appropriately sized at waist

Skirt must be within 4 inches of the knee

Solid colors (khaki, black, Navy)

Belt loops

Khaki material

No embellishments of any kind

 

Shirts:

Appropriately sized (NO blousing)

Knit polo or golf-like with collar (short  or long sleeved)

Solid colors (white, red, Black or gray)

No logos or embellishments of any kind

 

Shorts:

Appropriately sized

Must be within 4 inches of the

knee or longer

Khaki material

Solid colors (khaki, black, navy)

No embellishments

 

Shoes:

Casual or athletic

Closed toe only

 

Belts:

Must be visible

Must be worn at all times

Black or brown in color

NO large buckles or embellishments

 

Outerwear:

Appropriately sized, light weight, zip up jackets (solid red, white, Black, or gray)

Unacceptable Attire

Denim clothing (of any color)

Untucked Shirts

Beltless pants

Pants with no loops

Open toe shoes

Inappropriate sized clothing

Skinny leg pants of any kind

Large belt buckles

Pullover Sweatshirts with hoods

Shirts with logos or embellishments

Pajama Pants

Gym shorts or Soccer Shorts

Patterned Socks, Socks with Characters, or Two Different Colors
